It’s Monday morning and the start of another “work week”.

Here is how alot of people with 9-to-5 jobs are feeling right now:

Have you planned out what you will be doing this week?

Here’s a list of things that should be on your list:
1. Which sites/projects you’re building.
2. What new things will you be learning this week.
3. Which sponsors are you finally going to sign up for and start promoting.
4. Review your sales/traffic for the month to date and make the necessary adjustments.

A quick story to help you Seize the Day:

I went out drinking on Saturday night with 4 highschool friends I hadn’t seen in a while.

Friend 1: Has worked in an administrative job for 8 years (my best friend)
Friend 2: A truck driver that drives about 12 hours each workday.
Friend 3: A meter reader in a small town.
Friend 4: An insurance broker that took a 2week course to start his career.

I have a university degree in accounting and make more in a month than ALL of them combined. I do it working from home, being my own boss, and controlling my financial destiny.

The internet and the adult business together have created a wildly amazing opportunity for us to fulfill many of our financial dreams. Many people dont even know about it. And even many that do know about it aren’t going to take advantage of this opportunity the way they could.

Don’t be one of them.

I urge you to think about it and realize the potential that is in front of you when you lay your fingertips on your keyboard.

Every moment is an opportunity for those who are ready to seize it.

That is my advice for today, make a plan on what you will be working on this week, realize the opportunity that this business provides and Seize The Day!

Alot of people in the adult business learn the hard way not to put all their eggs in one basket.

Make sure you don’t do this as you build your business….

Think of the eggs as your sites, domains, servers, traffic sources, etc…

Here’s a quick story, when I first started out fulltime in the biz I had all my sites and webpages on one virtual server account. I had been working hard for a couple months on building my business. I was building pages/sites, submitting like a nut and doing the things it took to increase my income. I was starting to see the results of my hardwork in the size of my checks.

Then one day my host when down. My sites where unavailable for almost 2 full days. For 2 days I had ZERO new sales and lost alot of links from people that where linking to me. The fact I had all my eggs in one basket (All my sites with one host company on one server) cost me big time.

Another example was when AdultCheck cutoff the majority of their affiliates. I thought AdultCheck was solid. Thought they would never screw me. I was making a big percentage of my sales/income with AdultCheck and it was like a kick in the nuts when they stopped sending the checks.

So my advice for today is if you are at all serious about having this business support you and give you the good life in the shortest amount of time possible then please make sure you diversify your assets in all aspects.

“Making More, While Working Less” is the idea behind not making the mistake of ‘putting all your eggs in one basket…’

It’s alot of work to recover from making that mistake!

For example, use more than one host company, build your sites on multiple domain names, use more than one domain name registrar, spread out your traffic to various sponsors, obtain your traffic from more than one traffic source, etc, etc.

Here’s a biggie: Backup your data! Invest in a backup drive (about $200). The feeling of “Fuck!” when your harddrive dies or your server is wiped out is unbearable when all it took was backing up your data on a regular basis to avoid that loss of income.

“Don’t put all your eggs in one basket” is a lesson I learned the hard way and I urge you to consider it as you build your empire - avoid the same drama I went through!

I have been hard at work the whole day converting my adultwebmaster blog at www.iadultwebmaster.com to the wordpress platform.

While I am doing the upgrade I finally get around to using my first “RSS reader“.

Now, like those who have never used one, I have been hearing about these damn “rss readers” for months and just never got around to figuring out exactly what they are or how they work.

This is how PornHero felt about RSS feeds and RSS readers…

… until this morning… I dont feel like that anymore!

Here’s my conclusion about RSS feeds and RSS readers:
Using RSS feeds and readers is so simple and makes you a more knowledgeable adultwebmaster which means more $$$ in your pocket!

Are you not using a RSS reader yet? It’s time you did…

How I am going to make more money with other people’s adultwebmaster blogs:

Here are the 4 simple steps:

STEP 1. Choose a RSS reader
- a ‘rss reader’ is like an internet browser made especially for blogs and ‘rss feeds’
- lets you see the headlines for the recent entries on blogs you are interested in.
- there are tons of RSS readers, some of them are web-based
I just discovered www.rocketinfo.com (it’s free)
- once you use a rss feeder for the first time you realize just how effective a tool it can be.

STEP 2. Add adultwebmaster blogs to my rss reader.
The majority of quality blogs allow you to add their “rss feed” to your rss reader.
- an rss feed is simply a url to insert into your rss reader -

STEP 3. Every morning while I am having my coffee I am going to browse through the adultwebmaster blogs I’ve added to my reader to get the latest news and info from all the adultwebmaster blogs I am tracking.

- Fast, one click access to my favorite sources of adult business information.
- No need to waste time surfing to a blog if i dont see anything of interest
- Ability to keep track of as many different blogs as I want (not just adultwebmaster blogs)

PornHero makes his coffee just the way he likes it and…

…gets ready to read adultwebmaster blogs on his rss reader.

STEP 4. Use the latest adult business news and info that I get from the blogs in my daily business activies to stay one step ahead of my competition.

- take my advice and setup your first rss reader and you’ll be glad you did - you’ll feel like you’ve been working in the dark this whole time!

SUGGESTION FOR SPONSORS:
- Build a simple “affiliate’s blog” for your sponsor program so that webmasters like myself can add your feed to see what is the latest news/updates for your sponsor program without having to log into your webmaster area.

- All you are really doing would be converting your “News” section of your webmaster area to a blog format using a blog script like www.wordpress.org.

Its Monday March 14th, 2005 and I am working all day on converting my blog to the wordpress format. I have decided to do this because of the overwhelming positive response I have received about my blog from the adultwebmaster community.

So please excuse the mess while I upgrade today. I will be adding my entries from the previous month and should be done sometime today.

Using wordpress will allow you to read my blog with a rss reader without having to visit this site as well as allow other blogs to trackback my blog entries.
Both items will increase traffic and bookmarkers to this blog.

Do you have a blog? Using a simple blog script and ready to upgrade it to a professional blog script?

I recommend getting the free wordpress blog script. It was a fairly simple installation on my server. The great thing is you can easily custimize the look of your wordpress blog by running a search for “wordpress themes” in google.

Been in it for a while and getting discouraged?

Making good money but not sure how to take it to the next level?

No matter what stage of your business you are at there will always be the challenge to stay motivated, keep growing your business and reaching new heights. You need to be constantly on the lookout for new opportunities and testing and experimenting with moneymaking methods in this business.

I recall making $300 in a month for the first time. I was so excited! That was my car payment and I was ecstatic to have reached that level. Now I make that much in a morning. It seems my business grows in spurts. I may seem ’stuck’ at an income range for a couple of months then one month it would jump 25 to 50% and I would never return to the old range. Of course the months my income jumped gave me motivation for me to keep going.

How do I stay motivated during the months when my incoming doesnt seem to be growing the way I want it to? I stay the course. I keep active by trying to always build something everyday. Even if I dont have the time or energy to build something on a particular day I try to read an interesting article, visit productive messageboards (I like www.greenguyandjim.com ) or signup for sponsors programs.

But what’s the #1 thing I do that keeps me motivated?

I learn new things about the biz.

The key I think is to treat this like a business - not a hobby - and do not to let days or weeks go by where you don’t learn something new. Learning new things is like putting gas in your moneymaking engine. Everytime you learn something new you are expanding your knowledge/experience about the biz which will eventually result in a higher income over time. And no matter what stage your are at there is always something new to learn.

For example, my most recent learning adventure has been blogs. I read about them, researched them and recently finished my first wordpress installation. Now that is what I call learning new things.

This applies to learning things you think you may never use. For example — You’re not in the TGP business so you dont’ care how it works? That is not the way to think! Read articles about TGPing just so you understand how it works, understand the issues and tools people use in that circle… many times you will get a spark of ingenuity and a lightbulb will go off in your head with an idea of how to apply what works in the tgp business to your own business. Don’t disregard other moneymaking methods cuz you think they don’t apply to you. They do!

So make it a habit to work on your business everyday, learn something new about the biz whenever you can (even if you think you will never use the info) and your income will increase slowly but surely.

I remember back in the Fall of 2002 sitting at my desk at my fulltime job and staring at a sheet of paper.

I had worked at this particular mainstream internet company for 3 years and I was about to give them my 2 weeks notice that I was leaving. I was about to become a fulltime adultwebmaster. I had written on that sheet of paper in big bold letters what my income goal was.

$20,000/month.

That was all I typed on the piece of paper. At the time I was making about $2000 a month

I remember talking to my coworkers and them laughing and saying “yah right” how are you going to make that much money. None of them knew I was in the adult business of course.

Less than 2 years later I reached my goal.

I firmly believe it’s beneficial to have a concrete goal in your mind of the amount of money you want to make in this business. I choose an amount and continually replay it in my mind as I go about my work on a daily basis. If I find something that helps me get closer to my goal - I keep doing it! If it doesn’t I stop doing it and try something else.

But making goals can apply to just about anything… goals on how many hours a week you work, how many sites you own, sales per day, etc, etc. Write your goal down on a piece a paper and place it by your computer, stick it on your fridge - whatever you need to do to help program your mind and motivate yourself to reach that goal.

It works for me and I highly recommend that you try it.

My next goal?

$40,000/month.

Do you build brandnames or do you simply promote other people’s brandnames? I have found in the long run its best to be promoting your own brandname, you are building longer lasting value and will see the returns for many months and years to come.

Here’s a simple example, instead of having a direct link to your sponsors in your signature on messageboards, build a goodlooking site with all your sponsor links on it and promote that site whenver you can. For example you could build a site called MyFavoriteSponsors.com and send people there. Over time you’d be surprised how many people will remember your brandname and go there directly - and you’ll have a chance to make more than one referral on that person. Just an example.

I always think in terms of building brandnames. Its part of thinking BIG instead of just doing what everyone else is doing.

I need to clarify something. I created iadultwebmasters blog as a source of information for the serious adultwebmaster that actually builds and owns online assets.

Over the past few days I have discovered another underlying business/market/activity in this industry that I was completely unaware of. And that’s the ability for people to earn money posting on message boards all day. Whether its by per post or by referring affiliates to a sponsor. I am SO glad I was ignorant of it. It means I was too busy building my business rather than making my participation on a messageboard my business.

Now this is not to lay blame or criticize anyone for however they make their money. If you are making money that your are happy with in whatever form then good for you.

I just wanted to clarify that the iadultwebmaster blog and all the information I provide here is intended for those people who actually build/create/submit sites/pages, send sales and are continuingly increasing their income by building their network of assets.
